Tips on staying safe at a theme park on a hot day
We are so excited that you’ve chosen to spend your day here with us at Peppa Pig World, YAY! You have excellent taste in days out, even if we do say so ourselves.
It’s so important to us that you and your family have a fun and safe day here with us, so we’d like to share some tips on staying safe in the sun on a very hot day.
Drink lots of water
Perhaps the most important thing you can do for your health in the heat is to make sure you’re getting enough water. Staying hydrated will help you avoid all kinds of nasty surprises (like heatstroke) – plus, it will help keep you feeling recharged and ready to explore the park. We have free water refill stations around the Park to keep you hydrated!
Make sure to provide alternatives like squash or juice for fussy little drinkers.
Rest when you need to
It’s important not to push yourself too hard when it comes to physical activity in the heat. This is especially true of the hottest parts of the day (12pm until 3pm). Get to the park early and allow yourself plenty of time to rest – you’ll regret rushing around in the heat. The gardens are the perfect place to relax under the shade of the trees.
Find shade
As tempting as it can be to make the most of the summer sun, believe us when we tell you that you should make an effort to spend some of your time in the shade. The whole family will benefit from spending some time out of the rays. We have plenty of covered areas around the Park, including the gardens, inside our restaurants and in the undercover seating areas.
Dress to keep cool
Wear light layers made from natural materials like cotton or linen. Lighter colours will keep you cool but they will also provide less protection from the direct sunlight, so bear that in mind. Tying long hair back can be a good way to keep the face and neck cool but remember to put suncream on the hairline, ears and neck.
Wear protective clothing and sunscreen
Protecting yourself and your loved ones from the harmful UV rays is easy with a little planning. Make sure that everyone has sunscreen, sunglasses and that extremities are covered with clothing and/or hats when the sun is at its highest (around noon). We have lots of Peppa Pig World caps that you can pick up on the day!

Things to do at Peppa Pig World on a super hot day
There are so many great things to do here at Peppa Pig World this summer!
Jump in Muddy Puddles!
At Peppa Pig World we want everyone to be able to jump up and down in muddy puddles with their friends, just like Peppa and her friends in the show! Get ready to splish AND get ready to splash!
The puddles here are actually not very muddy at all. In fact, they are mud free. Shhh, don’t tell anyone. The good news is that this means you can jump up and down in the puddles all day long and never get your clothes dirty.
The Muddy Puddle play area features all kinds of weird and wonderful fountains that shoot water in every direction and in different patterns. You won’t always know where it’s coming from next – but that’s part of the fun.
This attraction is for children up to 6 years old. Adults can only enter the play area if accompanying an under 6 year old. Please remember that water makes you feel cool but it also reflects light so apply sunscreen frequently.
Grampy Rabbit’s Sailing Club
ALL ABOARD!!!!! Get ready to come on a whimsical water adventure with Grampy Rabbit’s Sailing Club. We’re about to whisk you away on a magical sailing journey to Pirate Island with Peppa and her friends.
Grampy Rabbit is one of our absolute favourite Peppa Pig characters, so it makes sense that this is one of our favourite rides at Peppa Pig World. We think you’re going to like it too.
Being at Sea with Peppa and friends, surrounded by the bright sparkling water and peaceful scenery will help you feel a little cooler in the summer heat. And the best part? This ride is suitable for even the littlest family members, provided children under 8 years of age are accompanied by an adult. How fun!
Grandpa Pig’s Boat Trip
We all know Grandpa Pig loves making things and this time he’s made one of the best rides to enjoy on a hot day! What better way to have some fun in the sun than to splash around with your family for a fun sailing adventure!
Hop aboard one of the colourful boats at Grandpa Pig’s Boat Trip with up to 3 more people and sail around the lighthouse as the ocean rocks you up and down. This is such a wonderful and exciting ride for the whole family and everyone is sure to feel refreshed by the experience. Land Ahoy!
George’s Spaceship Playzone
If it gets too hot to be out in the sun, you can spend some time chilling out in this cool indoor attraction. This space themed playzone is an absolute must for kids who like to play, explore and make friends as there is ample opportunity for climbing, running and sliding around!
George’s Spaceship Playzone is out of this world! It features slides to whizz down, tunnels to crawl through and a central spaceship that you can climb up inside for views of the Playzone.
Children who are tired or more puzzle inclined can practise sorting in Peppa’s recycling centre – it’s full of all kinds of interesting games and activities. Or they could play a game of giant noughts and crosses in the Picnic area.
All areas have age guidelines so that you can determine which activities are best suited to your child’s ability. Adults can wait on the nearby tables or accompany small children into the attractions.
We hope to see you soon!
