Treating the family is always rewarding when on a day out at a theme park and at Paultons there are lot’s to choose from. Kara, a local mummy who writes for the fun, family, travel & photography Chelsea Mamma Blog, has written a great little guest blog post below exploring what is on offer.

“No trip out with the family would be complete without an ice cream treat, and there are plenty of places to stop and indulge at Paultons Park.

From a traditional Mr Whippy, to a locally produced New Forest Ice Cream cone or Lolly, there is plenty to choose from for all the family!

If you are on a budget, taking a picnic is an ideal way to save and Paultons Park have built a brand new  450 seat covered area just outside Peppa Pig World, next to the railroad diner which is another new addition.

For the ultimate treat, why not stay and eat with Bertie Badger and his forest friends at Wildwood Restaurant, which is open for both lunch and dinner.  With freshly cooked meals starting from just £4.15 you won’t be disappointed.

We tried it last weekend and there were plenty of places to sit, even in high season.  I was delighted to see they provided a microwave to use to heat baby food, which meant there was no waiting around whilst Sebastian had his food heated in warm water.

To use the restaurant you simply decide what you want to eat, take note of your table number, order and pay at the counter.  They then bring your meals out once they are ready.

The food arrived freshly cooked, beautifully presented and was delicious– I was very impressed.  There was also plenty of condiments on the tables, which satisfied by ketchup loving family.

There are other places to eat dotted around the park, from kiosks offering sausage rolls and pizza’s , the Railroad Diner offering fast food options to Miss Rabbit’s ice cream kiosk in Peppa Pig World.

The treats don’t stop there though.

I always take my camera, but sometimes you just can’t get in the right place for that perfect photo.  Paultons Park do photographs on some rides, including Cobra, The Flying Frog, Raging River, George’s Dinosaur Ride and Daddy’s Pigs cars as well as a photo opportunity in Madam Gazelle’s classroom and Peppa’s magic studio.

These photographs are £12 each, or you can purchase a photo pass for £20 which gives you four photo’s (or keyrings / magnets) of your choice.  They are a fabulous memento of the day and Eliza has a wall filled with pictures from our visits.

Other treats are the pay extra kiosks where you can try your hand at winning cuddly toys.  In Peppa Pig World they are large Peppa and George toys and I always see lots of proud children clutching them as we go round.  As a season pass member, I am entitled to two goes for the price of one, but still haven’t been able to master the knack!  Outside in the main park, you can win Minions, donuts and other cuddly toys.

If you have forgotten your swimming clothes and towels for the water play areas, they have plenty to be purchased on-site, at reasonable prices.

Probably the biggest treats are the shops!

The shop entirely devoted to Peppa Pig is set next to George’s Spaceship Play zone and is filled from top to bottom with Peppa Pig toys and merchandise, some exclusive to Peppa Pig World itself, so cannot be bought anywhere else – Daddy has his very own Daddy Pig jumper!

The new toy shop at the exit point, however, has a huge range of toys,  from loom bands to My Little Pony, Dinosaurs to Lego, Stationary to baby toys, and of course Paulton’s Park souvenirs.  They also have sweets, drinks, and ice creams to ensure you are stocked up for the journey home.”

It looks like Kara and the little ones enjoyed their family treats and as season ticket holders, we look forward to welcoming them back again soon. For more reviews and adventures from family life visit:
