Plus, the arrival of some new long-tailed residents, and a fully reimagined café

Award-winning attraction, Paultons Park, has announced the opening of a brand-new flume ride, Splash Lagoon, this May.

Splash Lagoon is a family-friendly water boat ride that takes young explorers on a Jurassic adventure in Paultons Park’s dinosaur-themed world, Lost Kingdom. The new family flume is complete with meandering rapids and an exciting drop into a prehistoric lagoon below. Splash Lagoon promises an exciting ride for junior thrill-seekers and their parents.

Paultons Park, located in the New Forest National Park in Hampshire, is renowned for its attention to detail and theming. Lost Kingdom catapults families back to a long-forgotten era, using sound, planting, live shows, curated spaces, and colour to create a captivating prehistoric landscape. To complement the arrival of Splash Lagoon, a new family of moving, life-like dinosaurs will greet guests and further elevates the immersive Jurassic experience for families.

James Mancey, deputy managing director at Paultons Park, said: “Splash Lagoon is a fantastic addition to the Lost Kingdom experience. The detailing and theming around the new flume is in keeping with the Jurassic-theme and delivers a truly immersive adventure.

“Splash Lagoon is great fun for junior riders and balances the thrill and excitement that rides such as our suspended dinosaur coaster, Flight of the Pterosaur, offers for older children and adults.”

Paultons Park prides itself on being a destination for all the family and boasts over 70 rides and attractions across five themed worlds. In 2023, the attraction topped the charts once again as the best ranked theme park in England, according to users of Tripadvisor.

James added: “Since the earliest days of Paultons Park, we have worked hard to ensure that we offer a value for money day out for families of all ages. Guest experience is at the top of our priority list and so we’re committed to investing in experiences for everyone. From junior coasters to big thrills, animal attractions and gardens, Paultons Park is a destination for all the family, where no one misses out on the fun.”

Splash Lagoon isn’t the only new addition to Paultons Park this year, as the team prepare to welcome some new fluffy residents this February. A family of ring-tailed lemurs will soon swing into a brand-new enclosure at the Hampshire theme park, offering guests the opportunity to watch the sociable and expressive little Madagascan primates play and explore.

From Easter, families will also enjoy a new steam-punk style café and restaurant, Grande Central, situated between Tornado Springs and Peppa Pig World. Complete with lounge chairs, booths and tables, Grande Central offers freshly brewed coffee, tea, and hot chocolate, as well as a variety of hot eats, delicious cakes and sweet treats.

In 2023, the family attraction was named the UK’s best value theme park. The accolade was based on independent research which considered entry ticket price, queue times, parking fees, and number of attractions. In addition to an extensive family offering, Paultons Park boasts free parking, free entry for children under 1 metre, and some of the lowest ride queue times in the UK, meaning the destination came out on top as offering the best value for money compared to all other UK attractions.

Paultons Park reopens on February 10th, 2024. To book tickets and find out more, visit:  paultonspark.co.uk.
