In our latest guest blog post Kara, author of the fun, family, travel & photography Blog Chelsea Mamma explores how her family use their Paultons Park Season Tickets that offer unlimited entry to the Park during the open season.
“This is our second year of being season pass holders at Paultons Park and we love to visit the park as often as possible as it is only 30 minutes up the road and there is so much to do.
I highly recommend visiting off season if you can as the park is much quieter with very little, if any, queuing involved. However don’t be put off visiting during the summer season, as I have some fab tips for you that will help beat those queues!
Eliza (3) adores Peppa Pig and as Paulton’s is the home to Peppa Pig World you cannot visit Paulton’s Park without a visit to meet Peppa, George and their friends.
Peppa Pig World is a toddler’s idea of heaven, with the whole park looking just like it does on the cartoon. The attention to detail is second to none, with model characters dotted all around the park for the kids to spot and pose for photo’s with. There is a even a duck pond that real life ducks seem to be drawn to, alongside the yellow ones from the cartoon.
Eliza and Isaac (6) both enjoy the rides which include Grandpa Pig’s “mini-a-ture locomotive”, Grandad Pig’s Boat, Miss Rabbit’s Helicopter, Peppa’s Balloon Ride, George’s Dinosaur Ride, Daddy Pigs cars and my favourite the Windy Castle and now Sebastian is 1 he can start enjoying them too.
Why not pay a visit Madam Gazelle’s school and have some fabulous photo’s taken, or take a look inside Peppa Pig’s House where Daddy Pig had a slight mishap with the pancakes and then there is also fantastic indoor play area for when the weather is miserable, Mr Potato’s Play Park and for the summer the Muddy Puddles Splash Park, so take a towel.
Where Peppa Pig World excels is with their facilities for toddlers. The toilets are close by and plentiful – each with their own toddler seat for those who are potty training. There is plenty of seating too, with areas to sit and eat a picnic or food that is bought on site. There is a dedicated Peppa Pig shop, with goodies that you cannot find anywhere else, but you don’t have to access it to leave the park which is a handy bonus if you are trying to save money. Season Pass holders are entitled to 20% off food and drink and 10% off in the shop too, so I can still treat the kids to that all important ice cream!
The trick to visiting Peppa Pig World in high season is to get in and out early, when the park opens or leave it until around 3.30pm when it quietens down as everyone realises they haven’t visited the rest of the park.
Paulton’s Park has so much more to offer than Peppa Pig World, for all ages. Kian (13) adores the 4D cinema, The Edge, Skyswinger, Cobra, Wave Runner and Magma and we all enjoy visiting the birds, animals and even dinosaurs.
For small children their are plenty more rides to keep them amused, plus scattered around the park are FREE coin rides which they can play on if their big brother or sister wants to try something a little more daring. Mine all adore the brand new Double Decker Victorian Carousel, which has the most amazing topiary surrounding it.
For bigger kids there is also a large splashpark with huge water fountains and plenty of room to run and splash your friends.
There is so much to see and do that it is a full day out for all the family to enjoy. The team at Paulton’s have also listened to customer feedback and have built a couple of brand new restaurants over the winter plus the most amazing new toy shop that is situated at the exit, which is well worth a visit in itself!
We are part of a group of friends that have season passes with a mixture of big and little kids. The older kids go off and enjoy the larger rides, whilst we look after the little ones but always come back when the picnic is being put out!”
