One of Hampshire’s largest employers is seeking to fill a range of part- and full-time seasonal roles
Romsey-based Paultons Park, the UK’s number one family theme park, has launched a hiring drive to recruit 500 people to fill seasonal positions starting in early 2022.
In 2021, Paultons Park recruited the highest number of seasonal staff following the opening of popular themed world Tornado Springs. The theme park, which is one of Hampshire’s largest employers, is looking forward to a busy and exciting season next year and as a result is again increasing the size of its seasonal workforce for 2022.
This uplift allows for staff to be offered greater flexibility in their hours, promoting a good work-life balance and reiterates Paultons Park’s dedication to offering a five-star experience for all visitors.
Paultons Park has a strong track record of promoting and developing staff members that join the seasonal team. Several members of the permanent team that operate the park’s departments began their career as a seasonal worker.
Matthew Buckler first joined Paultons Park as a seasonal ride operator in 1990 and became a permanent member of the Zoo team in 1995. Since then, Matt has worked in nearly every department with the company, finding his calling in HR.
Matt added: “Paultons is a fantastic place to work. I quickly realised that while in my first role operating rides. The support from the company is great. It has enabled me to progress and find a career path that suits my skills. Many of the colleagues I worked with during my first season at Paultons have stayed and grown their responsibility within the company. Aside from the brilliant career progression, I like the fact that I am part of a diverse workforce and it’s great to see everyone of all ages and experience come together.”
Seasonal staff are offered competitive hourly and weekly rates, have access to free parking, subsidised food, full training and complimentary park tickets.

Paultons Park is looking for staff to be placed in roles ahead of the new season starting on February 19th. Seasonal positions include ride operators, entertainments assistants, cleaning team, warehouse, retail/admissions, food and beverage, first aid, gardens and grounds and zoo team on weekdays, weekends, school and bank holidays.

Notes to editors
Hours for seasonal positions will be rostered in advance and vary dependent on the time of year. Flexibility is required to meet the peak and off-peak demands of the business.
Candidates will require good communication skills, the ability to deliver a great guest experience and follow guidelines as well as a willingness to learn and work as part of a team. Those successful in the roles will be provided with full training and an induction ahead of commencing work.
Peppa Pig World
UK and Eire exclusive and world first, Peppa Pig World, is located at family theme park Paultons Park in Hampshire and opened in 2011.
There are now nine rides including Miss Rabbit’s Helicopter Flight, Peppa’s Big Balloon Ride, Grandpa Pig’s Little Train Ride, Grandpa Pig’s Boat Trip, Daddy Pig’s Car Ride, George’s Dinosaur Adventure, Windy Castle, The Queen’s Flying Coach Ride and Grampy Rabbit’s Sailing Club. Other attractions within Peppa Pig World include Peppa’s House, Mr Potato’s Playground and Muddy Puddles, a water splash park.
Paultons Park
Family-run theme park Paultons Park opened in 1983. The park covers 140 acres and has more than 70 rides and attractions including Jurassic-themed attraction Lost Kingdom. Paultons Park’s latest new themed world, Tornado Springs, opened to the public on 12th April 2021 adding eight new rides and experiences to its offering.
In July 2020 Paultons Park was named the 10th best amusement park in the world, beating all other UK attractions, as well as being named the best-rated UK amusement park for the fifth year in a row in the Tripadvisor Travellers’ Choice Awards. Paultons Park is the only park to have ever received this award five years running.
