Paultons Park has won European Top New Attraction at the Parksmania Awards for its latest themed world, Valgard: Realm of the Vikings.
Valgard is the largest investment to date for family-owned Paultons Park, in Hampshire, with £12 million invested into the themed world. The Viking-themed attraction features Paultons Park’s first inverting coaster, Drakon, a brand-new Vild Swing that swirls riders 12 metres in the air, and Cobra, a famous favourite ride at Paultons Park, reborn as Raven.
Guests have embraced Valgard, with theme Park enthusiasts rushing to be the first to ride Drakon on opening day in May 2026. Jack and Jordan were among the first guests to ride Drakon. Jack said: “It was incredible, it’s absolutely an amazing ride. I’m lost for words really.” Jordan added: “It was so smooth, it feels insane. It’s one of the best rides in the country.”
Paultons Park prides itself on being a destination for all the family which boasts a collection of over 70 rides and attractions across its six themed worlds. Valgard joins Midwestern America themed Tornado Springs, famous for its thrilling Cyclonator ride and free-spinning Storm Chaser coaster, and the park’s dinosaur themed world, Lost Kingdom.
Paultons Park’s Parksmania win comes shortly after the park was crowned Theme Park of the Year at the UK Theme Park Awards for the second year running, one of 11 trophies it took home, reinforcing its reputation as the UK’s most-loved theme park.
