Peppa Pig World is home to the largest Peppa Pig Toy Shop in the entire world! Local mummy and author of the My Life My Love Blog Ali, stepped inside with her family to show you around in our latest guest blog post.
“For all fans of Peppa Pig, George and their family, an experience of Peppa Pig World isn’t complete without a browse around Peppa’s very own toy shop. Carefully selected products means that pretty much anything Peppa related can be found in the shop.
It’s popularity meant that the shop was pretty busy on the two occasions that we visited but what I found very helpful was that each section of the toy shop had a heading at the top so you could easily navigate your way around the shop if there was something specific that you were looking for.
We spent a while browsing the book section as we entered the shop. From £4.99- £12.99 there is a wealth of titles to please your budding bookworms from Peppa Pig storybooks, finger puppet books to noisy books with sounds that accompany the story.
Like an Aladdin’s cave full of treasure, the toy shop is full of Peppa related games, puzzles and toys. On our previous visit we purchased Daddy Pig’s campervan complete with BBQ, picnic table, a shower and of course the characters. But the appeal of the toy shop is that it doesn’t simply restrict itself to selling toys. We loved the fact that we could purchase swim wear and towels from here. We couldn’t resist the Mr. Dinosaur Dressing Gown, it was perfect for Harley to keep warm and dry off after splashing about in the Muddy Puddles Splash area.
Aswell as the swim area of the shop, there is a fabulous Art section selling travel activity packs; sticker books; mini sketch pads; face masks; roller stamp pens; face painting sets and our personal favourite, deluxe modelling clay to create our own Peppa Pig characters. The bedroom accessories section of the shop was also very popular. Beanbags, lamps, cushions, rugs, blankets and duvet sets were all available to create a wonderful Peppa Pig themed bedroom in your own home.
We now also have a Peppa-themed bathroom thanks to the bath accessories area of the toy shop. We loved the bath crayons for writing or drawing on the bath which can then be wiped clean for a very reasonable £3.49 per pack. Toothbrushes, shower gels and bubble baths could also be purchased in abundance. As could Drinkware and Lunch kits. There were some lovely souvenir gift sets comprising of a tumbler, bowl and plate all microwavable and dishwasher safe. My niece loved the Peppa Pig lunchbox and cups with straws, aptly timed for going back to school after the summer holidays. My son loved the bag pack on wheels and he has already wheeled it everywhere with his teddies in it, at home.
The toy shop houses a super clothing section full of t-shirts, pyjamas, hats, sunglasses and wellies. The clothes were well stocked up on the railings and came in the sizes 1-2, 2-3, 3-4, 4-5 and 5-6 was the biggest. You could even buy shoes ranging from sizes 4-12. I was a little frustrated that I had brought my son some Velcro sandals a couple of days earlier, I wish I had held out for a few days because he preferred the ones here and they were much cheaper too at only £10.99. Typical!
With such a vast toy shop catering for every child’s Peppa Pig needs, the grown ups haven’t been forgotten. We found Mummy and Daddy Pig ceramic mugs; t-shirts; hoodies; slippers; baseball caps; socks even a super ‘Granny Pig Loves Baking’ apron. It’s also worth browsing the Sale rail to see if there are any more bargains to be had.
No toy shop is complete without the good old soft toy. We loved the beanie toys. These come in 4 different sizes, right up to a giant 22” perfect for life-sized Peppa and George cuddles!
I was really impressed with the selection of items available in the toy shop. The inevitable chocolate bars, lollies, key rings and DVDs can still be found but it is the wide array of alternative gifts, souvenirs and practical accessories which I believe add to the appeal and success of the shop. Items are there to suit all budgets and I also have to commend the staff who were readily available on the shop floor to help customers, serving quickly on the tills and also tidying the shop continually.
