New insights from queue-times.com reveals that the average ride queue time at Paultons Park is half as long as at other UK family theme parks

Data tracked and analysed by queue-times.com* has revealed that average wait time for a ride at Paultons Park, the UK’s number one family theme park and home to Peppa Pig World, is 50% shorter than at other UK family theme parks.

Data from 1st January to 15th July 2024 confirmed that guests at Paultons Park queued for an average of 7 minutes for a ride. In comparison, visitors to Legoland waited for an average of 14 minutes per ride, and at Chessington World of Adventures the average queue time was 15 minutes. At Alton Towers the average wait time rose to 17 minutes.

James Mancey, deputy managing director at Paultons Park, said: “We strive to deliver a high quality, value for money experience at Paultons Park. A day out to a theme park should be jam-packed with fun and thrills. By limiting capacity and managing the number of guests in the park each day, we can ensure that every family has the opportunity to spend more time on the rides than queueing for them.”

Queue-times.com analyses waiting times for 126 theme parks worldwide, tracking data for over 11,000 rides. The site owner started queue-times.com in the summer of 2014 after a frustrating trip to a theme park where they spent the entire day waiting in lines. The data is collected from each park’s official queue time source.

The short queue times at Paultons Park are regularly applauded by families visiting the New Forest attraction. Bek McCracken visited in June 2024 and said on Google Reviews: “We were visiting from Australia and can honestly say this is the cleanest and prettiest theme park I have been too…Our longest wait for a ride was 5 minutes. We were able to go on our favourite ones multiple times.”

Lucy W visited on 4th July 2024 and reviewed Paultons Park on Trustpilot saying: “…I realised what good value it is because the park is fantastic and there is so much to do there…We spent most of the time in Peppa Pig World and most of the rides did not have a wait at all; for some we were able to get straight on.”

Paultons Park further expanded its ride offering this year, with the opening of Splash Lagoon in May. The family-friendly water boat ride takes young explorers on a Jurassic adventure in dinosaur-themed world, Lost Kingdom and is complete with meandering rapids and an exciting drop into a prehistoric lagoon below. Splash Lagoon promises an exciting ride for junior thrill-seekers and their parents.

In 2023, Paultons Park was named the UK’s best value theme park, based on independent research which considered entry ticket price, queue times, parking fees, and number of attractions. As visitors to Paultons Park enjoy over 80 rides and attractions, free parking, free entry for children under 1 metre, and some of the lowest ride queue times in the UK, they came out on top as offering the best value for money compared to all other UK attractions.

A family of ring-tailed lemurs also swung into their brand-new enclosure at the Hampshire theme park this year, offering guests the opportunity to watch the sociable and expressive little Madagascan primates play and explore.

Additionally, families can also now enjoy a new steam-punk style café and restaurant, Grande Central, situated between Tornado Springs and Peppa Pig World. Complete with lounge chairs, booths and tables, Grande Central offers freshly brewed coffee, tea, and hot chocolate, as well as a variety of hot eats, delicious cakes and sweet treats.

Paultons Park, which covers over 140 acres of Hampshire parkland, offers five different themed lands, including the UK’s first Peppa Pig World, the Jurassic themed Lost Kingdom, the animal adventure world of Wild Lands, and children’s favourite Critter Creek. The Park’s latest themed world, the 1950’s Midwestern Americana themed Tornado Springs, opened in 2021 and features some of the Park’s most thrilling rides, including Cyclonator and Storm Chaser.
